Vix's Scrap Tag Tutorials: Terms of Use

These ancient and newer tutorials are written by me (Vix)

The date of creation is usually the date they are posted on the blog, sometimes earlier

They are based on tags of my own design created

by me and any potential similarities to other tag tutorials that

may be available is wholly unintended and completely coincidental.

Please do not use my tutorials as the basis for ideas when creating your own tutorials. Be original and go your own way - even when we use the same supplies, the outcomes can be unique!

Any items supplied to use to create your own tag with these tutorials are supplied in good faith - if I have used something not intended for usage in this way, please contact me via email for either accreditation or removal. Any items specifically created by me for the purposes of these tutorials MAY NOT be used in any other tag tutorials. This does not apply to my masks which you are welcome to use in your tutorials/tags etc.

Links to tube/scrap stores/blogs or sites are added either through necessity or creator courtesy, and it is entirely up to the individual (ie. You!) if you choose to visit these sites and/or download/purchase from them. Note: Many of the sites that I have linked to are no longer online. I am working through the blinkies and will remove any that are no longer active, offering free download or store purchases.

Scraps used in my tutorials that I've obtained from PTU purchased scrap kits are NOT supplied in my tutorials supplies. I will link to the place I obtained my supplies from to show some love to the creators. Especially you lovelies who have been keeping the faith and cracking on for over two decades. If you're still out there, let me know :)

Hiya blogettes,
I love scrapkits, and I love to make tags
using scrapkits too.
Personally, I enjoy opening a new kit and seeing
what goodies lay inside and what happens when
I go nutz in PSP lol!
But, I know there are lots of people who do enjoy a scrapkit tag tutorial - so here's this blog, especially for them!

Here you'll find a few scrapkit tag tutorials for you to enjoy.
Some are Pay to Use scrapkits and some are Free to
Use scrapkits.

Some will be from taggers sized kits
and some will be from full sized digiscrap kits.
Note: If a kit I've linked to is no longer available - just use another kit and see what happens...

I hope these tuts inspire you to go nutz in PSP yourselves and that you have fun with your creations and expressing yourself through gorgeous tags.

Glossary of Terms

C&P - Copy and Paste

The Usual - New Image in PSP, 600 x 600 Pixels
Add a New Layer and Floodfill White
(I tend to make tags in 700 x 600 but my older tutorials are the first dimensions)

LP - Layer Palette

(the bit on the right in PSP which shows all the layers)

MP - Materials Palette

(also known as the Colour boxes - found at the top right of PSP)

Selection Delete - Magic Wand Tool on 0 Tolerance and
0 Feather, click inside the mentioned item (frame etc)
then Selections, Modify, Expand (or Contract) by a
certain number of Pixels which will be stated.
Then Selection Invert and either eraser delete (if asked)
or hit the Delete button to get rid of excess tube
or paper, for instance.

Magic Wand Settings - just so you know...
Mode: Add
Match Mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 0 (unless otherwise stated)
Feather: 0 (unless otherwise stated)

Eraser Settings -
For hard removal - ie. getting rid of excess tube etc
Size: 102
Hardness: 100
Step: 5
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity: 100

Resize and 00% - if I show a number percent, like 80% etc
It means Resize that particular element
paper, tube etc by the amount stated then C&P

Double Layer Tube Emerge -

Once placed as you'd like it on your tag

Duplicate the tube layer

Move one just above the frame layer (or whatever you're wanting the tube to "emerge" from)

and one just under this layer

Hide the top tube layer

Using Magic Wand Selection - select your frame inner

and then Modify, Expand as needed

then

Selections, Invert

And take your Eraser tool on a hard strong setting (see my settings above) and erase any parts of the tube which stick out below the area you want them to be

Once deleted, Selections None

Now unhide your Top tube layer

Activate in the LP and then

and repeat the erase as needed

You should - all being well - have your tube emerging from a frame in selected parts

And that is the double layer tube emerge. Used in many of my tuts

Top Tips

1. Use a different tube/image. Nothing makes a tag from a tutorial more your own than NOT using the same tube etc.

2. Colourize your chosen kit to suit your mood or your tube = but, only if the scrap designer allows...and most do :)

3. Give a little credit if poss. Many designers do want credit for their scraps, so where able, slip a little "scraps by..." or "scrapkit by..." in your tag credits when using scrap designers that ask for credit when used online. Most of the full sized scrap designers do ask for this.

But of course, if the designer doesn't ask for credit, then that's fab too and saves on tag credit space :)
