Scrapkit - A fabulous kit by Bibi's Collection called Just Dance - you can purchase it HERE

Xero Graphics Greyscaler and Radiance

Font - Bebas Neue from HERE

Scripty Font of Choice

_________________

Open a New Image in PSP
700 pixels wide by 550 pixels high
Add a New Raster
Floodfill White

Open BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (4)
The flower trail swirl
Resize this element 70%
Copy and Paste as a New Layer on the tag canvas
Place horizontally in middle of the canvas if needed
then Image, Flip

Open BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (3)
The branch doodle swirl
Resize 40%
C&P
And place so the left start point of the doodle is by the large purple
flower within the previous layer - see my screenshot for guidance

Open BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (48)
The pink circle dots
Resize 80%
C&P
Line it up as mine - see screenshot

Making sure you're on the top layer of the Layer Palette
(ie. the pink circle dots are highlighted blue on the right)
Hide the White Background layer for the moment
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Unhide the White Background Layer
And using Move Tool, Move the merged layer up the tag canvas
making sure you don't touch the edge of the tag canvas
Then
Duplicate
Image
Flip
Image
Mirror

OK

Open BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (48) - the frames
Resize 80%
C&P
Make sure this layer is above the others in the LP
Place centrally to the tag
Then
Open BIBIJUSTDANCE PAPERS (12)
Resize the paper 15%
C&P
and place under the frame layer
Using whatever method you prefer - Magic Wand Selection, or Erase etc
Delete the paper outside of the framed area
I used Magic Wand Selection Delete with an Expand of 5
Then Invert and hit delete on the paper layer

Now, let's get the tube and close up placed so we can then concentrate
on the final element placements
Place your close up image in the left frame area on a new layer
Resize as prefered and then once more, do a Selection Delete to get rid
of the over-lapping image
Place your tube on the right side - I resized my tube 60%
Once placed as you'd like it
Duplicate the tube layer
On the top copy
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur, 2.00
then
Xero Graphics - Greyscaler on the default settings
then
Xero Graphics - Radiance on the default settings
then
in the Layer Palette on this layer, change to Soft Light and drop the Opacity to 60
Now, activate the tube layer below this
by clicking on it
then right click and View, Current Only
then click on the Visibility Toggle (the eye with the no entry sign) on the
above Soft Light layer to unhide it
then on the main tube layer, right click once more and Layers, Merge Visible
Right click once more
View, All
Duplicate the tube layer
Move one just above the frame layer
and one just under it (above the paper)
Hide the top tube layer
Using Magic Wand Selection - select the inner frame area
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5
Selections, Invert
And take your Eraser tool on a hard strong setting and erase the bottom parts of the tube which stick out below the frame area
(ie. in this instance, the skirt and legs)
Once deleted, Selections None
Now unhide your Top tube layer
and repeat the erase of the skirt and legs area and any other areas that you'd like - I erased so the bow of the frame was showing "above" the tube and now, you'll see she's poking out of the frame - s'nice innit!
This will probably be the last time I explain this method so in future, refer back to this tutorial if you need a refresher (or, I'll probably pop it in the Glossary over on the right lol!)
(I've worked out that repeating myself over and over again is one of the things that puts me off tutorial writing - after 7 years it can be a little..well, samey lol!)
OK
Add a drop shadow to the bottom tube layer only
I used
4
-4
43
17.82
Black
Repeat the Duplicate, Blur, Xero Graphics etc method for the close up layer if liked - I did but I didn't drop the Opacity, kept it at 100
Apply a shadow to the bottom close up layer too

So then,
Crop your Canvas to 700 x 550
then
Image,
Canvas Size
and go up to 700 x 600 with a central placement
Now on the White Back layer
Floodfill once more with White

Open the BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (51)
The Winged Heart
Resize, 60%
Place under the frame and paper layers in the LP
Central to the tag area - see mine for line up placement

Open the BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (50)
The butterfly heart assortment
Resize 60%
C&P
Place as mine

Open the BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (58)
The pink rose
Resize, 40%
C&P
Place as mine

Open the BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (74)
The striped heart
Resize 60%
C&P
Place as mine

Open the BIBIJUSTDANCE ELEM (69)
The butterfly
Resize 60%
C&P
Image, Mirror
Place as mine on the rose

OK Now
With your Materials Palette (the two top colour boxes on the right of PSP)
Have the Foreground Stroke Properties on Black
and the background fill properties on Nothing

With your Text Tool activated
Find the Bebas Neue font
with a Stroke of 2.00
Creating it as a Vector (always a Vector - well, unless stated otherwise hehe!)
Type out what you'd like
I went for Girly Girl
Then once you've applied
Stretch it to the size you'd like
See mine for guidance
Once you've done that
Convert to Raster
Now
Once you've done that -
Using Magic Wand
Click inside each of the letters to select them
Selections, Modify, Expand by 1
then use a nice contrasting paper from the kit
I went for BIBIKJUSTDANCE PAPERS (10)
Resize 47%
C&P
Then
back to the main tag canvas and our selection area
Paste as a New Layer
Using Move Tool, adjust the paper 'til you're happy with placement
then
Selections, Invert and hit Delete on the Paper layer
Make sure this paper fill is below the black outline font layer
Back to the Black outline font layer
Adjust, Brightness and Contrast and move your Brightness up to 255
(ie. we want to change the Black to White)
Done?
Cool
Ok now on this layer
Adjust, Add Noise and find the Factory Defaults (which on my PSP is
Random, 50, Monochrome not ticked)
Apply
And on this outline layer
Apply a dropshadow of
2
-1
36
3.96
Black
Now merge this layer down to the Paper Fill layer below it
Duplicate
Position as mine on the bottom right of the tag
then
Move both of these layers down the LP so they are where you'd like them
I moved my top one down to just below the winged heart
and the bottom one - well, I kept it where it was :D

OK
Now finally
Add the dropshadow to the elements
I used the same dropshadow that I used on the tube earlier, but you choose
what you'd like
Add to all elements except the merged backgroundy layer we made at the beginning and the two wordart layers we just made
Now add your name as liked
I went for a scripty font in White
and add your artists © info, URL and any scrapkit props you may like to add
Crop once more
Delete the white back
Save as PNG file for optimum quality
Oh, you're done!
Thank you for looking and if you have a go making it - enjoy!

Tag Tutorial - PTU - Enjoy the Ride

This tag uses one of my favourite ever tubes by Barbara Jensen - it never fails to
inspire me!

And this is another tag inspired by a song by Nik - Enjoy the Ride!
Check out his superb album "Ei8ht" from all good music sites

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Tube of Choice - I'm using "Sheer" by Barbara Jensen - an oldie but a very goodie!
See Barb's site for her beautiful tubes and don't use without a license...'cos that's just mean! (ok, it's also illegal too but yannow!)

Scrapkit of Choice - I'm using a PTU mini kit by the superb designer, Kristin Aagard @ Scrap Orchard
The kit is called Enjoy Life and you can purchase it HERE

Mura Meister Copies

Toadies What Are You?

Eye Candy 4000 - Gradient Glow

Font of Choice

This tut uses a method in PSP to make a mask - eeks! So, this isn't really for
beginners to tag making, but see how you get on...
_______________________

Open a New Image in PSP
650 x 600
Add a New Layer
FF White

Open the KAagard_EnjoyLife_Word_EnjoyTheRide file
Image, Resize 30%
Edit, Copy
Edit, Paste as a New Layer
(C&P for short!)

Right click on this layer in the Layer Palette (LP)
Duplicate
Hide the top one
Click on the bottom one in the LP to activate it
Go to Mura Meister Copies - Star Cluster preset
and change the Shift X and Shift Y sliders to 40 each
OK to Apply
Like the placement? Good
If not, Undo and go back in and do it again
You'll get a slightly different placement each time
so fiddle 'til you like it
Add a Dropshadow of
4
-4
43
17.82
Black

Now
Open KAagard_EnjoyLife_Frame1
Resize 15%
C&P
Above all the other layers
Open KAagard_EnjoyLife_Paper3
Image, Resize, 15%
C&P
Move down under the frame layer
And click inside the frame area and Use Magic Wand to do a Selection Delete
Expand by 3
then Invert and hit Delete to get rid of the excess paper
Now copy and paste your chosen tube
Use either a close up and fill the frame area
or a tube and do a double tube layer
(one above and one below the frame) and
erase the top and bottom as needed
Oh, girlies (and guys!) I've done it a thousand times
Check out my previous tuts to see the method
if you're not sure, but if you've done my tuts for
years, you'll be familiar with it hehe xx

Open the EnjoyLife_Heart
Image, Resize 15%
C&P
Place wherever you have a gap in the background wordart arrangement
Repeat if liked
and free rotate these heart layers 15% either to left or right, whichever you'd like

Open the EnjoyLife_Bubbles1
Resize to 15%
C&P
Place over the top of the tube area
Line up to how it looks good for your chosen tube
Repeat this with the _Bubbles2 file
And erase any that you'd like to remove (if any overlap where you don't want them)

Open the Enjoy_Life_Stitches
Resize 15%
C&P
Place just above the White Background layer

Open a few of the Flower files
Resize to 10%
C&P
Place as many or as few as you'd like on the tag canvas

It was at this point I decided I wanted to recolour the red
elements of the tag to match the red from my tube
So I did
If you'd like to do the same, just hover your Dropper tool over the colour
you'd like to swap to
Then go to the Materials Palette and find the Hue and Saturation value
then off to Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colourize and place the
two numbers in there
I did this for the hearts and the wordart layer

Now
Add a Dropshadow of
4
-4
43
17.82
Black
to all the layers except the bubbles and stitches
(and the tube which you shadowed earlier!)

Unhide the original wordart strip layer we hid at the beginning of the tut
Place where it suits your tag
Recolour if liked and apply the same shadow

On the stitches layer
add a drop shadow of
0
0
35
7.00
Black

Now take your font of choice
and using the Text tool
with both colour boxes on Black
and a Stroke of 1
Type out your name
Covert to Raster then
move down the LP
to where you'd like it
I placed mine just above the frame layer
Now Eye Candy 4000 - Gradient Glow
Look for the Preset called Neon Outline
and move the Glow Width slider all the way down to 3.00
OK to apply
and then apply the same larger dropshadow we used earlier

Hide the White Background
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Duplicate the merged tag layer
Activate the bottom layer
and then in the Materials Palette
change both of your colour boxes to White
then
Go to Toadies - What are You?
And apply the default settings - 20 and 20
Now
Copy this Layer
and Paste as a NEW IMAGE
On this new Image
Image, Decrease Colour Depth, 2 Colours
and
Have the Palette Component on Grey Values
and
Reduction Method as Ordered Dither
OK to apply
and then
Image, Negative Image
Ooooh look, you've got a mask hehe!
Leave this image for now

Back to our working canvas
DELETE the Toadied layer
Pick two colours from your tag
I went for yellow and green
Make a FG/BG Gradient on the settings you like
I went for Linear on 45 with a 2 repeat
Add a New Layer
Floodfill with this gradient then
Layers, New Mask Layer, From Image
In the Source Window dropdown box
Choose your mask image you just made
and have the Create Mask from
Source Luminance selected
Invert Mask Date not ticked and hit OK
Ta-da!
There's your mask!
It's a little big for the tag - it touches the sides and we
don't want that (looks naaaaasty!) so
Layers, Merge, Merge GROUP
and you should see your mask layer is now all on one layer in the LP
So now
Image, Resize
90%
All Layers Not Ticked as we only
want to resize the mask layer

You can close the mask image you made now as we're done with it
Now finally
Add your artist and scrap designer (if applicable) information
Crop the canvas if liked (take care not to chop any of your tag)
and delete the White Background layer
Save as a PNG
All done! xx
Note: if you like to make lots of tags for others, don't add the Name layer
when I do - simply add it after you've done the mask addition xx

Hide the main copy for now

and

Position the duplicate within the frame area as liked

and then

Click inside with Magic Wand to activate the frame inner

Selections Invert

And hit Delete on the tube layer

Make sure this is below the frame layer in the LP

Now, duplicate this selected tube layer

and on the top one, Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur, 2.00

and change the Blend Mode to Overlay

and on the bottom tube layer

Xero Graphics - Greytinter on Overall Tint slider at 100

Apply

Open one of the Papers you'd like, position within the frame inner area

and repeat the Selection Invert Delete process for the paper layer

and now the blurred tube layer too

Make sure this paper layer is below the frame and tube area layers

and finally add a subtle dropshadow of choice to the frame layer

I used 2, 0, 33, 5.00, Black

Now, making sure that the Main tube layer and the White Background are

hidden

Layers, Merge Visible

Unhide the White Background but keep the main tube layer hidden for the moment

So

Duplicate your frame layer

and on the top copy

Apply Mura Meister Copies on these settings of mine

Now unhide the main tube and move up to the Top of the LP

and check for placement of your tube against mine

We want the Copies to compliment the tube position

so if yours doesn't - then undo, go back and jiggle the

Copies settings

Once happy with the stretch and placement - apply and

move the tube up to the top

Duplicate the copies layer

Image

Flip

Open the Moon element

Image, Resize, 60%

C&P

Line up with the batwing of the tube to the right of the middle tag canvas

See my tag for ref

Move this moon layer down the LP so it's just above the White Back

move down the LP so it's below the tube layer

Open the Tree

Resize 80%

C&P

Place as Mine over to the middle right

Position within the LP so it's below the tube layer

but above the two Mura's layers

Reposition the bat layer now if liked

Remember the spare frame layer we had?

Move this right up the Layer Palette so it's at the top

Duplicate once more, and hide one

then

place in the centre of the tag

Now

Mura Meister Copies, and apply these settings

Now position as mine over the moon area

and change the Blend Mode of this layer to

Hard Light

and drop the Opacity of this layer to 50%

and unhide the other frame layer

Image, Resize, 60%

Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen if needed

Repeat the Copies settings you just applied to the other one

and also apply the same Greytinter settings as we did earlier

And position as mine

Open the Wordart2

Resize 60%

C&P

Place as mine over to the bottom right

and move down below the tube layer

Open Paper 5

Don't resize the paper just

Edit Copy

and then Edit, Paste as a New Layer

Move down below all the layers except the White Background

then

Crop to the current tag canvas size of 700 x 600

and

on this layer, apply my Mask called Vix-BigMask019

Layers, Merge Group and move the mask layer slightly over to the right a little

Duplicate

Image

Flip

and move this down a little so it peeks out from the bottom of the assorted elements and tubes - take care it's not touching the edge of the tag canvas

Activate the tube layer once more

Duplicate

And apply a Gaussian Blur overlay as liked

I used 2.00 blur and Soft Light

and apply Xero Greytinter to the bottom tube copy

Now apply a favourite dropshadow to the elements and tube layer

(don't shadow the framed Mura layers or the wordart -

they were all shadowed already)

I used

-2, 3, 23, 8.91, Black

Now finally

Add your name in a font of choice and finish of choice

Add your copyright information and/or license number

Crop

Delete the White Background

Save as a PNG file

Tag!

Hope you enjoyed this tut xx

Tag Tutorial - PTU - Nightlife

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Tube of Choice - I'm using one of my favourites by Barbara Jensen which you can purchase at SATC

Taggers Scrapkit - Nightlife by Gemini Creationz - which you can purchase from SATC

Xero Graphics

Mura Meister Copies

Xenofex 2

Eye Candy 4000

Although this is a copy and paste style tutorial, experience in using the filters and understanding of PSP layers etc will be required :)

*****************

Open a New Image in PSP - 700 wide by 600 high @ 72dpi

Add a New Layer

Floodfill White

Open the gemini_nightlife_cots file (the dots image)

Resize 50%

Copy

and Paste as a New layer on the tag canvas

And apply Mura Meister Copies on this setting

Now move the layer over to the right of the tag canvas as mine

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Layers, Merge, Merge Down

Open your chosen tube

Resize as needed then copy and paste

Position centrally to the tag so you know where the

final position will be

Leave for now, we'll adjust it later

So...

Open the gemini_nightlife_fandangle

Image, Resize 50%

Copy and Paste

Place as mine on the top left of the tag area

Right click the layer in the layer palette and

choose Duplicate

then

Image

Flip

Merge these two layers together

Right click and duplicate again

then

Image

Mirror

Now, using your Dropper tool

Select a yellow shade from the yellow area of the fandangle layer

Place this colour in your top box (Foreground) area of your Materials Palette

Have your Background on Nothing

Now, Preset Shape Layer

Look for Rectangle

Set it to Line Style Solid and Width on 10

Now

Using the dotty layer as a guide, draw out your Rectangle - you want it

to be touching the black and white swirls of the fandangle layer

Draw it out and then when you're happy with sizing, Convert to Raster layer

Jiggle to adjust positioning if needed and once happy, move this Rectangle layer

BELOW the merged swirly fandangle layer in the LP

On this rectangle layer

Adjust, Add/Remove Noise

and choose Add Noise

Uniform, 10

Monochrome ticked

OK

Click inside the Rectangle layer using your Magic Wand on the usual settings

which are Add, RGB Value, 0 Tolerance and 0 Feather

So, click inside then Selections, Modify, Expand by 3

Selections, Load/Save Selection and choose SAVE Selection to Alpha Channel

Click Save

Keep Selected

Now add a new Layer just above the dots layer

but below the rectangle layer

and floodfill the selected area with Black

Keep Selected

Add a New Layer

Click on the Airbrush tool

Have it on these settings

Make sure your colour in the Foreground is WHITE

and then click to the top left area of the selected rectangle area

and draw your airbrush down the right, like a single swag finishing behind your tube

Then, over to the top right area of the selection

and swoop back to the left with the airbrush

(You'll end behind your tube each time)

OK?

Hope I explained that clearly :)

So, you should end up with a brush area that almost looks like lit up areas?

Cool!

With your area still selected

Copy and Paste your tube

one to the left and one to the right

and position under the rectangle layer but above the airbrush layer

Selections, Invert and hit Delete on both tube layers

Now

Selections, None for now...and in fact, it turns out we don't need

the saved selection, but never mind eh!

OK

Change the blend mode of both tube layers to Overlay

then

Xero Graphics, Radiance on the default settings

Note:

If you don't like the finished effect on your tube, then don't use the Xeros OR

change the Blend Mode of your tube cutout layers to suit the tube you use

Open the gemini_nightlife_stagelights

Image, Resize, 50%, All Layers Ticked

Copy

Paste this light as a new layer on the tag canvas

Move it below the tube layer

and line up the right side of the lights with the bottom right of the rectangle

Zoom in to see it better and line up like this...

OK

Duplicate this layer

Image

Mirror

Now this one doesn't line up properly so again, zoom in

and line up with the bottom left side of the rectangle...

OK

Now duplicate this layer

Image

Flip

And move this light UP until it "mirrors" the positioning of the lower one

and you can still see the tube underneath

Then

Duplicate this light layer

Image

Mirror

And once more, it's not a perfect mirror, so move this light layer over to the right

so it lines up with the outside of the rectangle area

Phew!! :)

OK, so that's those positioned - if you're happy with the positioning you

can merge those light layers together to one layer

Open the gemini_nightlife_feathertickler

Image, Resize 80%

Copy

Paste as a New Layer on the tag canvas

Move over to the left

Line up with the edges of the rectangle/lights

Duplicate

Move over to the right and line up as mine

Open the gemini_nightlife_halftone

Image

Resize 50%

Copy

Move over to the left side of the tag canvas

Move this layer down the Layer Palette

to just above the White Background layer

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Open the string_hearts

Image, Resize, 50%

Place as mine over to the left

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Line up as mine

Open the armina_fabric_flowers6b

Resize this flower image 20% (Image, Resize, 20%, All Layers Ticked)

Copy this image

Paste as a New Layer on your tag canvas

Place it to the left side at the top of the string hearts as mine

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Layers, Merge, Merge Down

Duplicate

Image

Flip

Adjust if needed

Open the path

Image, Resize, 50%

Copy

and paste as a new Layer

Move over to the right at the bottom of the tag

And move down the Layer Palette so it's just above the Dots layer

See mine for placement

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Layers, Merge, Merge Down so both paths are on one layer

Duplicate

Image

Flip!

And adjust up or down as needed, if needed

Back to the tube layer (yes, we got there in the end lol!)

Duplicate

And on the top layer

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur 2.00

then

Xero Graphics, Radiance

Apply the default settings

then change the Blend Mode to Soft Light, and then

change the Opacity of this layer to about 60%

On the Bottom tube layer

Add a Dropshadow of

And apply it again (total 2 times)

Now

Right click on the bottom tube layer in the Layer Palette

View, Current Only

then Unhide the upper tube layer

Right click on the Bottom tube layer again and choose, Merge, Merge Visible

You basically want both tube layers merged onto one layer

Done that?

Excellent

OK

So now, click View, All so you can see all the layers again

But hide the Tube layer for now

then

Onto the bottom path layer

Take your Magic Wand and click on all the black areas of the bottom path layer

Once all of them are selected

Selections, Promote Selection to Layer

then

Xenofex 2 Constellation on these settings of mine...

Selections None

Repeat this step for the top path layer

OK

Keep your tube hidden for the moment

Now for your Text tool

Choose the font - I used Desigers on Size 72 and colour Black

Type out the word you'd like

Convert to Raster Layer

Position to compliment the path edge

then

Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow on the default setting EXCEPT change the colour to

match the yellow shade we've been using

Apply

OK

At this point, I erased the bottom of my tube which was protuding

I did this using my Selection Tool, on Rectangle with a Feather of 5

Chose the area that I wanted erased

then hit Delete a few times

OK

So now

Apply the dropshadow to all the element layers except the halftone and dots layers

Then

Finally - add your name in a font of choice

I used White, Dr Carbfred and applied the shadow twice

Add your Artist cr info

Delete the White Background layer

Crop to size and save as a PNG

All done! :)

Hope you've enjoyed this tutorial and have fun making your tags xx

Tag Tutorial - PTU - Very Merry

This is another quite simple copy and paste tutorial, but
with another nice kit hehe :) xx

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Please bear with me but for some reason Blogger Editor isn't displaying properly and I'm out of time to do my usual fancy schmancy links and what not - so I'm adding them here as web addresses and when Blogger is fixed I'll do them properly lol!

SO - you'll need

Tube of Choice - preferably one with different sized versions - I'm using one by Keith Garvey called "Christmas Pixie"
I love it!!
You can get this tube from PTE - http://psptubesemporium.com/
or use another triple tube or just one mahoosive tube and resize as needed

Kit - Merry Christmas by...me! You can get it for 30% off
until the end of December at SATC and Clarey's Designz
http://www.scrapsandthecity.com or http://www.clareys-designz.com

Mask by me - Vix_Mask434 - the snowflakey one from a while back

Click on the thumbnail to get the full sized one and right click and save to your
own computers

No other Filters needed

_______________________

Open a New Image in PSP

700 x 600

Add New Layer

Floodfill White

Then open Vix-MC-E21a (realistic tree with baubles
or use on of the other two coloured versions in the kit)

C&P

Move over to the left of the tag - middleish

Open

Vix-MC-E1 (The Peppermint Twist Trio Frame)

C&P

Place under the tree in the LP (Layer Palette...that bit over on the right
of PSP which shows yer layers)

and then move over to the right of the tag canvas more

Lining it up as mine for positioning

Now

Open your Tube/Close Up Combo

Get the full bodied tube

C&P

Line up as mine - making sure she's above the
other layers in the LP

Now

Open the Middle sized tube

C&P

Place as mine - and move to just under the Tree layer

Now

Duplicate this tube layer

Move one copy of the tube DOWN the LP so it's under the Frame layer

Hide the top copy of the tube for now

Apply a nice dropshadow to this Bottom tube layer

I went for

1

6

12

2.00

Black

Now taking your Magic Wand on the usual settings (see the side Glossary
of Terms if you're unsure about Selection Erasing)

Click inside the botton frame area (the middle bit)

Selections

Modify Expand by 3

Selections

Invert

Don't hit Delete - we want to keep the top of the tube

So, just grab your Eraser and erase the bit of the tube at the bottom of
the frame area - ie. the skirt that overhangs the frame section

Selections None

Unhide the Top copy of this tube

Apply the same shadow then

Taking your Eraser again

Erase so the skirt area is once again removed
taking care not to erase any shadowed area on the bottom right of the tube

You may need to zoom in a bit for this bit - I know I did lol!
(I went into 200%)
So erase the area carefully on the right of the tube
then you can go a little madder and erase the rest of the
tube bottom as before so she now
appears to be emerging from the frame

(If you're not happy doing this erase part, then don't apply the shadow to the top tube copy
and then you can just do the erase without worrying about removing shadow)

OK, now for some papers within the frame

You can either apply one paper to each frame section
or one whole paper to all - you choose :)

To do this - and I'm gonna shorthand it

Click inside the area of frame you'd like filled
Selection Expand as we did for the Tube earlier

Then

Don't Invert

Just take your chosen paper/s

C&P

Position within the selection

Now, Selections, Invert

Hit Delete on the Paper layer within the LP

Selections None

Move the paper down the LP so it's just above the White Background
and repeat as needed

I used Vix-MC-P11 (white one with red snowflakes)
for all three frame fills

OK
So looking like mine?

Eeeeeeeeexcellent!

So now,

Take your largest version of your tube

C&P

Place over to the right of the tag canvas

Sandwich this layer betweem the paper and frame layers in the LP

If you're having your tube filling the area, don't bother applying a shadow

but if - like me - you're having your face "peeking in" from the frame

then do :)

I used

0

0

50

21.78

Black

(Big and Smudgy Central Shadow)

Then, once more do a Selection Expand Delete as before on this tube

Now CROP the tag to the current size 'cos if you've just

done the large tube and shadow combo, it's still there, sneakily hiding

outside of the tag canvas...

Wanna see? If yes, read on - if not, just crop and skip ahead to the asterisk

So, BEFORE you crop - Go to

Image, Canvas Size

and go to Width 750 x Height 600

LOOK! There it is all hiding under the outside of the tag canvas...schneaky lol!

This can sometimes cause problems with shadow lines on tags and excess tube bits too

Nothing irritates me like when I finish a tag, make a load for friends and then

see a flippin' shadow line or iffy cropped bit.

SO, in my tuts, I always crop to the actual canvas size to get rid of any of this stuff.

People sometimes wonder why I do it...and now, YOU know :D xx

Oh, so just go to your Undo Arrow and Click undo once to get back to your original

tag canvas size of 700 x 600 and NOW you can Crop to Canvas size of 700 x 600

OK

Back to the tut...

*Open the Paper - Vix-MC-P7

C&P

Just above the White Back in the LP

Do another crop to canvas size

Now

Open Vix-MC-E27 - one of the scatters

C&P

Place over on the right of the tag as mine

Making sure this layer is above all the others (we'll move down in a min)

Duplicate

then Move (don't mirror flip as the scatter is shadowed)

over to the left of the tag canvas area

Again, Position as Mine

Now move both of these layers down the LP

so they're just above the Mask layer

OK

Now open Vix-MC-E74 - the wordart

C&P

It should position itself in the middle of the tag area?

If not, move down so it's in the middleish - see me tag for ref

Then

Move down the LP so it's just above the Mask layer

Now taking your Magic Wand again

Click inside the three strip areas of the frame

Selection Modify Expand as before

Then

Hit Delete on all the layers that show through this frame bit

So

the Mask Layer

The Wordart Layer

the two Scatter Layers

Once they've been deleted - Selections None

Now add a nice shadow to the frame layer

I used

1

1

52

2.00

Black

OK

Open Vix-MC-E23 - the sparkles

C&P

Place above all the other layers in the LP

and position as mine

Final bits now...

Add a dropshadow to your main tube and the tree

I used

-1

5

27

12.00

Black

Add your name in a font and style of choice

Place where you prefer

And

then add your Artist CR info and URL etc

Do one more crop to tag canvas - taking care not to crop the Sparkles layer

You might want to add a Black fill layer so you can see what you're doing :)

I got down to 691 x 570

and

Now, Delete the White Background (And black fill layer if you use one)

Merge all layers Visible

and

Save as a PNG file

Ta-daaaaaa!!

Thanks for trying my tut, if you buy it, thanks for
buying the kit ((hugs)) and importantly - enjoy your tag hehe xx

Draw out a Rectangle around the spider and some of his trail - then Cut, Selections None, close

the tree and DON'T save changes then Paste your cut selection

onto your current tag canvas and place where liked and shadow as for the web erasing any excess

This kit is rockingly good - so we're making a BIG tag!!

Open purpleframe

Image, Rotate Right

C&P as a New Layer on the tag canvas

and then when on the Masked layer, hit Delete

We want to get rid of the mask that pokes out underneath the frame at the bottom

to include the small moon and bats - then hit Delete (gorgeous though it is, we've got a moon from the paper beautifully showing behind the house lol!)

Selections None

Open ghost3

C&P

Place within the area of the right frame square

Dropshadow it as prefered for your tubes

then

Do a Selection Delete to get rid of the excess ghost (now, there's a sentence ya don't say everyday lol!!)

C&P

Place on the right of the frame as mine

So this layer will be at the top of the LP

Open pumpkin3

Resize as before and place as mine

Open spider

Resize 20%

C&P

Place as mine

Open candle

C&P

Place as mine - IF you use the same tube as me, you'll need to erase the tube's candle

Now

Open the Sparkles 1 2 and 3

Place as liked just above the Masked Layer in the LP

Resize if needed/liked

If any stick out under the frame layer at the bottom - erase them

Open the Wordart I've provided for this tutorial...ONLY!

C&P

Line it up as mine

and

Move it down the layer palette (LP) to just below the Haunted House layer

Now

Apply this same shadow to pumpkins, spider, candle, cat and owl

House - 0, 0, 40, 10.00 Black

Apply this same shadow to frame and fence layers

Now add your name in a font and style as liked

And place it over the right side above the ghost's head :)

Dropshadow as for the tube

Add your artist info now

then

Go to Crop Tool

And clicking on the Nodes, move the crop inwardly taking care

not to crop any shadow, mask etc

then

C&P

Move down the LP so they're below the Pink Paper layer

and change the X and Y Sliders to 70 each

Don't Resize this one

then

Take your mask of choice - a rectangle shaped dimension one would be best, and then apply

Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Now open your chosen tube

C&P

Place as liked

Add effects as liked and shadow as prefered :)

Now on the flowers and frame layer

Apply a dropshadow as liked

I used the same one I did for the cupcakes earlier

Add your name in a colour and font of choice

Apply a Bevel or (as I did) a SuperBladePro preset

and

Shadow as before

Apply any other bits you might like to use - I added some sparkles which I love at the moment, am obsessed with sparkles lol!

Now, add your artist info

and Crop the tag canvas

I got down to

623 x 546

Then

Delete the White Background

and

save your work as a PNG file - so it's transparent backed

and when posting in your forums, will not have a white background :)

Hope you enjoyed this simple, copy and paste tut - simple, maybe...but effective? I think so hehe xx

Apply a favourite dropshadow if using a tube

Tag Tutorial - Viva - PTU

Tube of Choice - I'm using a gorgeous one by Ted Hammond

Artwork © Ted Hammond

If you wish to use the same tube you must purchase it from CILM

However feel free to use whatever you have in your collection

Scrapkit - PTU - I'm using the superb "Sin City" by Jessica over @ Gothic Inspirations - thank you sweetie xx

Please go HERE for more details

Background Image of choice - preferably a Las Vegas shot - I used one
from Stock Xchng www.sxc.hu - I used Las Vegas as the search word
and found one I liked by getjustin on (I think) about Page 6 or so.

Two masks by Chelle WeeScotsLass - Mask 145 and 220

Xero Graphics - Pastellise

Xenofex 1 - Shower Door

(both of these filter plug ins are freely available from the Net)

Lokas Shadow (optional)

Sparkles of Choice
also optional

Font of Choice - I used a FontDiner.com font called Loungy

________________________________

OK - so
The Usual, a new Canvas in PSP

I used 680 x 600 (nice and big but if you'd like to start smaller

or you have forum restrictions where you post, then just adjust as needed and

do the same for the following element percentages too)

Then

C&P your chosen tube as a New Layer

Place centrally to the tag canvas, resize if needed

then hide the tube layer for now

Open Paper5

Leave for the moment

Now, open the Nightlife photo/image you've chosen to use - a landscape image

works better than a portait one

IF you've used the same one as me, resize image 30%

then

C&P as a new layer on our tag canvas(ideally you

want the image size to be not as massive as the canvas, but

large enough to take the mask) just above the White Background

Now unhide your tube so we can build the tag around it

Now

On the Background image,

Use Chelle's mask WSL_Mask145

Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Make sure it's below your tube layer

then

duplicate the mask layer

and on the bottom copy,

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur by 10

then

go to Xenofex 1 - Look for Shower Door

and apply the Collage preset from the drop down menu

Now duplicate the untouched mask layer again

and on the top copy

Apply Xero Graphics Pastellise - on these settings of mine

Hope you get the same effect as me - you shouldn't have any extra background

added to the layer - if it's applied right, the preview window hopefully will show

as mine

Anyway, once applied

Change the Blend Mode of this mask layer in the LP to either Soft Light or Overlay -

whichever you prefer

So you should have 3 masked layers

the Top one in the LP should be the Pastellised one

the middle should be the untouched mask one

and the bottom should be the Shower Doored one

Yes?

Cool!

OK

Duplicate your tube layer

and

On the top one - apply Pastellise as we did for the mask layer

Same settings

but this time

Change the Blend Mode in the LP to Burn or similar, we want a nice darkened effect

OK?

Cool

Now, let's element this baby up lol!

Open Vegas Sign

Image Resize 50%

C&P

Place as mine

Open Dice 2

50%

C&P

Place to the right of your tube

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Open Scatter Bling

70%

C&P

Place to the left of the tag as mine

Move this down the LP below all the mask layers

then

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Open Poker Chips

30%

C&P

Place to the left

Duplicate

Image

Mirror

Open Money

50%

C&P

Place to the right of the tag as mine

just under the right dice layer

Then

Open Money Bag

40%

C&P

Place above your tube layer

and duplicate

Use to cover any half body or leg chop off from your tube

or (in my case) the furry carpet (yikes! lol!)

Anyway, use it as mine, but don't mirror image the bag

Just duplicate and move over as needed

Now - remember our paper from way back? lol!

Go to Pattern (in the Materials Palette, next one along from Colour/Gradient)

Find the Money Paper - but change

the Scale to 40

See my settings here

Click OK

and you should now have the Pattern in your Foreground (or Background) box

Good

So add a New layer just above the White Background

and Floodfill this new layer with your Money pattern :D

OK

Now you can close the Paper - we're done with that

And

On this money layer

Apply Chelle's Mask - WSL_Mask220

Layers, Merge, Merge Group

and

Duplicate this layer for added emphasis

Now then - dropshadows!

One of the best finishing touches for any tag imho :D

So...

Don't shadow any of the mask layers

but for all the elements use

2, 2, 45.00, 5.00 Black

Apply to all elements

and

On your bottom copy of your tube - not the Pastellised one

Apply

a favourite dropshadow that you'd usually use for tubes

I used one from Lokas Shadow called Flat Faint Shadow (it's a preset in there)

Now, crop the canvas again to the size you'd like it (it

also helps to get rid of any overhangs, if there are any)

I just cropped to the size it is - 680 x 600

Add your Artist info now and if using photo/image
that needs a courtesy mention, add that too.

And if liked, add some sparklies you may have

I added a New layer

and looked in my Picture Tube tool and found Sparkle (dunno if

it's a preset or one that I obtained but I used that)

and placed various sizes of it to compliment the Sparkle Bling layers

I also used some other sparkles I had :D Improvise with what you have

and see what you like

then

finally -

Using one of the fabulous Font Diner retro Vegas style fonts

(I used Loungy)

I added the name in a glitter fill and black stroke

Place in the blank space top right

and added the element dropshadow

All done :D

Hope you enjoy xx

Tag Tutorial - Christmas Magical - PTU

Tube of Choice - I'm using a seasonal one

Artwork © Jennifer Janesko

If you wish to use the same tube you must purchase it from CILM

However feel free to use whatever you have

Scrapkit - I'm using "Christmas Magic" by Clarey which is gorgeous

and PTU

If you'd like it, please visit Clarey's store HERE

Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow

Xero Graphics Greytinter

Mask - Vix_Mask434 HERE

You can choose to do this tag animated - or not :)

_______________

The Usual except 650 wide and 600 pixel canvas

then

Open Frame 2

C&P

Image, Resize 80% (all layers not ticked)

Open Paper 8

C&P

Sandwich between the two frame layers

in the LP

and

Do a Magic Wand

Selection Delete with an Expand of 8

and Delete the excess paper

Open Paper 11

Repeat as above (put this paper above

the other one in the LP)

Now take your Lasso Tool

on Selection Type Point to Point

Mode: Add

Feather and Smoothing 0 and Anti Alias ticked

and draw out a zig zag line across the paper circle

and encompass the rest of the layer - you can start over

at the circle frame and work from left to right - then go over the top of the circle paper

and join up back at the left

(see my tag to get an idea of the zig zag)

Then

on this paper layer

Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow

Glow Width 3.00 Soft Corners 0 and Overall Opacity 100

Apply

Now

C&P your chosen Christmassy tube

Place this at the top of the layers

and where you'd like it to be on the tag

then

Duplicate

on the top layer of tube

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur, 2.00

then

change the Blend Mode to Overlay

and

on the bottom tube layer

Apply Xero Graphics Greytinter

Right click on the Greytintered tube in the LP

then

unhide the Top tube

and

right click again and Merge, Merge Visible

and merge the two tube layers together

and duplicate the tube

move one down to below the zig zag paper

Now apply a dropshadow to the bottom one

Something like

Vertical -2

Horizontal 6

Opacity 38

Blur 7.25

Black

and hide the top tube

Take your Eraser and erase the part of the tube

that sticks out under the frame

Unhide the top tube

and erase some of that

so it looks like she's coming out of the frame behind

the paper

and then

apply the same shadow to the zig zag paper

Open the fairy lights from Clarey's kit

C&P

Move down the LP to between the frame and zig zag paper layers

Apply a shadow of 0, 0, 35.00

Open Bow 1

and shadow both

Open Paper 12

C&P

Apply my Mask - Vix_Mask434

and move down the LP to just above the White back

Add a shadow to the frame now - something like 0, 0, 40, 10.26 Black

then

I used CK Constitution, Black fill, No Stroke

and applied the same Gradient Glow as the zig zag paper

then

Shadow as the elements

Crop the Canvas now

and

add your Artist info etc

If you want an animated tag, read on

If you're happy as it is - then delete the White Back and

save as PNG

IF you're animating - read on...

Duplicate the fairy lights layer twice to total 3 layers

Hide the top two layers

and we're starting on the bottom one

Zoom in if you need to see better

So,

Now

On the furthest fairy light to left

With Magic Wand on Tolerance of about 30

Click inside the light to get the colour selected - might take a few clicks and

don't worry about selecting the white bit in the middle

then skip the next bulb and go for the middle one

Select as before

So, you should now have two bulbs selected

Now go to

Adjust, Brightness and Contrast,

and have the Brightness on 20

and Contrast on 5

OK

Selections None

and

Hide this layer

Unhide the 2nd layer up

Now

Select the next two (the 2nd from left and the one after the middle one)

and

repeat the Brightness etc

change to Opaque, White

then

a very blessed and Merry Christmas
